Job Summary

The Multilingual LPAC Coordinator  serves as a critical support to Emergent Bilingual (EB) learners faculty and school leaders by overseeing Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) processes and maintaining accurate documentation. This role collaborates closely with school-based personnel to ensure accurate student records and high-quality decision-making for students with diverse linguistic needs. By ensuring adherence to federal and state bilingual education laws regulations and rules the LPAC Coordinator helps advance the mission of KIPP Texas Public Schoolsensuring every student has the tools and supportive environment necessary to thrive.

The LPAC Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the identification placement and review of all Emergent Bilingual students in accordance with the LPAC Framework. This role supports the development of robust LPAC systems and ensures fidelity to both instructional data and legal partnership with the compliance team( Director and Managers) the LPAC Coordinator provides direct support to campuses daily and collaborates with school teams to promote consistency and quality across the network. The LPAC Coordinator builds capacity and fosters a strong culture of collaboration equity and accountability in service of Emergent Bilingual students.

General Role Description

  • Strategy: Support the strategic vision of the Multilingual Education Team to ensure that KIPP Texas Public Schools implements accurate student data processes and provides comprehensive improvement of LPAC systems.

  • Communication: Assist the Manager of Multilingual Compliance in ensuring KTX stakeholders are provided excellent communication an exceptional customer experience intentional professional practices and well-coordinated support.

  • Legal Framework & Compliance: Possess experience and knowledge of Federal and State bilingual education law regulations and rules and an understanding of the essential elements of compliance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Verifies accuracy of data and all required documentation prior to LPAC meetings.

  • Maintains physical and digital confidential LPAC records pertinent to all Emergent Bilinguals in ELLevation.

  • Requests and maintains documents files and records (e.g. permanent files and agendas) to provide an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.

  • Follows all local policies of KIPP Texas Public Schools. 

  • Follows processes in accordance with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) LPAC Framework for identification placement and review of all Emergent Bilingual students.

  • Ensures compliance with state and federal law governing Emergent Bilinguals.

  • Collaborate with the Manager of Multilingual Compliance  and school staff to resolve TEA audits or TREx requests. 

Support and Communication:

  • Collaborates with regional and campus PEIMS Clerks and school leadership to ensure accurate coding of Emergent Bilingual students.

  • Maintains regular contact with the Manager of Multilingual Compliance and school leadership. 

  • Supports campuses daily with related compliance tasks including language proficiency testing LPAC documentation and facilitating LPAC meetings.

  • Communicates clearly (reading writing and speaking) to provide work-related information in a timely manner to supervisors principals school personnel and families.

Data Analysis and Improvement:

  • Maintains current EB rosters for each school in assigned portfolio. 

  • Analyze school data including language proficiency academic achievement and previous LPAC recommendations to inform instructional and assessment linguistic supports

  • Use data to support the LPAC in developing language goals and selecting appropriate language supports

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Cultivate the trust of all key stakeholders including teachers parents and administrators to support student success.

  • Maintain productive working relationships with other internal departments and lead troubleshooting efforts when issues arise.

  • Serve as the Multilingual Compliance team liaison ensuring effective communication and collaboration between teams.

Professional Development:

  • Attend monthly professional learning activities as needed to perform job functions and improve performance.

  • Provides professional learning support to school staff and parents to strengthen LPAC systems across the organization.

Other Duties:

   Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned by the Manager of Multilingual Compliance


Qualifications :

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university OR Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 semester hours) / associates degree or higher with at least two years of relevant LPAC experience.

  • Experience with PEIMS TSDS TREX Ellevation and Skyward preferred.

  • Bilingual and Biliterate candidates preferred.

  • Work with frequent interruptions.

Minimal travel: May travel to other school sites or regional offices for professional learning meetings and other work related activities.
