Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for an Operations Director Vancouver Community to join the team.
Reporting to the Executive Director Vancouver Community Operations the Operations Director in collaboration with designated Physician leaders is accountable for the overall operational management of designated programs/services within Vancouver Community. They establish the operational framework and infrastructure required to support program and service delivery and is responsible for the effective stewardship and allocation of physical human and financial resources to ensure efficient sustainable and high-quality operations.
This role will be accountable for services that fall within the Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Home Health and Home Support program areas. Within the MHSU portfolio the Operations Director provides strategic and operational leadership for a complex continuum of community-based services that support individuals with mental health and substance use needs. This includes services related to access and assessment care coordination and service transitions as well as community-based adult MHSU teams. The role also supports operational coordination and integration with Home Health and Home Support services recognizing the interconnected nature of community-based care and the need for seamless transitions and service planning for clients with complex and overlapping needs. The Operations Director is accountable for advancing integrated client-centered trauma-informed and recovery-oriented service delivery while ensuring quality safety access and system sustainability.
Working closely with Physician Leaders Program Managers and internal and external partners the Operations Director provides leadership and direction across the portfolio addresses workforce and system pressures and supports cross-sector collaboration to ensure responsive equitable and coordinated care for vulnerable populations. The role contributes to improved client flow and continuity across MHSU Home Health Home Support acute care and primary care and supports operational problem-solving related to access transitions and community capacity.
A key focus of the role is to ensure that strategic objectives and operational priorities are effectively implemented to support the delivery of high-quality health services within a client-centered environment. The Operations Director works collaboratively with colleagues and partners to identify and implement service delivery models and operational processes that promote seamless integration across acute care community services primary health care networks and home and community-based supports that are focused from the lens of the consumer support healthier lives and address the needs of the community while maintaining system sustainability. The Operations Director provides leadership and direction to management and senior staff across the portfolio to ensure priorities are addressed and program goals are achieved in alignment with the vision values and strategic direction of Vancouver Coastal Health. Additionally the Director leads or participates in local regional and provincial working groups and committees to support the planning of new initiatives identify emerging issues and opportunities and contribute to the development of long-term strategies and priorities related to the portfolio.

As an Operations Director Vancouver Community with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
- Develop policies and strategies that ensure integrated and sustainable programs and services consistent with established priorities and the vision values and strategic direction of Vancouver Community and VCHA.
- Enable an operational framework for staffing and care delivery approaches through collaborative partnerships that support patient safety best practices improved patient access and efficient flow of patients and clients across the care continuum.
- Develop and successfully manage operating budgets that complement strategic directions within existing fiscal constraints.
- Provide overall leadership and direction for operational staff that supports the achievement of required outcomes and ensures adherence to accreditation regulatory professional and safety standards.
- Establish an effective workforce plan in collaboration with key partners and partners that ensures the ongoing availability of qualified and technically competent staff within the context of operational demands and environmental and resource constraints.
- Ensure clear performance objectives and indicators are in place to assess the delivery of services within an interdisciplinary and multi-site environment.
- Create a collaborative workplace environment that encourages employees to realize their maximum potential fosters personal growth and promotes a sense of community autonomy and decision-making at the point of care and service.
- Foster strategic and working relationships with internal and external partners that result in sharing of knowledge monitoring of trends identification of opportunities to promote innovation exploration and partnerships for improvement and ensuring consistent delivery of quality services throughout the organization.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and safety standards to provide a healthy and safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Masters degree in an appropriate health or business-related discipline with more than 10 years recent related experience in a progressively more senior management/leadership role including direct supervisory experience.
- Current registration with relevant professional College/Association if applicable.
- Demonstrated commitment to on-going learning and professional development.

Work Location
- This is primarily an on-site role requiring regular presence in-office (located within walking distance to Vancouver General Hospital) and Vancouver Community program sites.
- Occasional remote work may be available based on operational needs.
