Job Summary

The Infrastructure Engineer sits within our structured cabling and network division supporting the design and deployment of low-voltage infrastructure across commercial job sites. This role spans Cat6/fiber cabling systems IDF/MDF buildouts and network rack and stack work while also supporting access control and IP surveillance installs on projects where both divisions are engaged. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct site surveys and job walks; document infrastructure scope including cabling pathways IDF/MDF locations and termination requirements
  • Design structured cabling systems for commercial environments Cat5e Cat6 Cat6A single-mode and multi-mode fiber
  • Plan and oversee IDF/MDF buildouts including rack layout patch panel configuration and cable management
  • Source materials and write detailed proposals including scope of work bill of materials and labor estimates
  • Oversee field installation of awarded projects; coordinate with technicians to maintain quality and schedule
  • Perform and oversee cable termination testing and certification using Fluke or comparable test equipment
  • Support access control and IP surveillance installs on integrated projects including Axis/Avigilon camera deployments and S2 access control
  • Configure and commission network and security hardware prior to system handoff
  • Deliver on-site system walkthroughs and end-user training as needed
  • Produce as-built drawings using AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio upon project completion
  • Monitor and troubleshoot deployed infrastructure both remotely and on-site

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years of commercial low-voltage and structured cabling experience
  • Proficiency with Cat5e Cat6 Cat6A and fiber cabling installation termination and testing
  • Experience with IDF/MDF buildouts rack and stack and patch panel installations
  • Solid understanding of network infrastructure and IP-based systems
  • Familiarity with access control and IP surveillance systems Milestone/OnSSI Axis Avigilon S2 a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret low-voltage blueprints and network diagrams
  • Proficiency across Windows operating environments including desktop and server editions
  • Strong communication skills for client-facing site work and project coordination

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • BICSI Installer or Technician (INST1 INST2 or TECH)
  • Axis Network Video Certification
  • S2 Systems Certification
  • Milestone Systems or OnSSI Certification
  • Cisco IP Video Surveillance Systems Certification

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

  • Hourly rate: $25 $40/hr based on experience
  • Full-time direct hire position
  • Travel to customer and company sites as required
