Job Summary
JP Services is looking for a Mechanic to join the team. As a Mechanic you will perform maintenance and repair of complex mechanical electrical hydraulic and diesel systems on a variety of construction equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment and troubleshooting.
Mechanic Essential & Non-Essential Job Responsibilities
- Work out of the shop on equipment repairs and maintenance
- Conduct equipment functionality use and safety tests
- Travel to customer job sites to perform mechanic duties as needed
- Daily utilization of computer applications and programs for service documentation
- Accurately order needed parts from vendors
Mechanic Required Competencies - Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Highly developed mechanical background with various construction equipment including aerial and dirt equipment
- Advanced understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams
- Extensive experience working on hydraulics electrical systems and diesel engines
- Experience with air cooled or smaller engines
- Experience with centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Have the drive to do whatever is needed to get the job done
- Exhibit strong teamwork and being a part of a greater goal
- Ability to give and take feedback or critique
Mechanic Experience Requirements
- Experience as a technician repairing and maintaining heavy duty machinery preferably construction equipment
- Own tools required to perform job
- Valid drivers license and a clean driving record
Mechanic Working Condition/Physical Requirements
- Work environment is consistent with that of construction equipment yard and repair shop and occasional travel to job sites
- Safety training and PPE is required
- Occasional lifting up to 100 lbs
- Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping
