Position Overview
PSX is seeking a Technician in the Cleveland market to support installation service and maintenance across electronic security parking systems and physical security equipment.
This is a field-based role for a hands-on technician who is comfortable working across multiple systems troubleshooting issues and supporting both new installations and service calls.
Technicians spend approximately 90% of their time in the field and 10% handling documentation coordination and internal communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Install service and maintain access control video surveillance and low-voltage systems
- Install and service parking equipment including gate arms ticketing systems and access control devices
- Troubleshoot and repair gate operators barriers and related mechanical/electrical components
- Run terminate and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6 and related systems)
- Assist with system configuration including IP cameras access control panels and network-connected devices
- Diagnose and resolve service issues in the field with minimal supervision
- Complete service tickets job documentation and testing/checklists accurately
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding job status and issues
- Support occasional after-hours or emergency service calls as needed
Systems & Technologies
Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
- Access control systems
- IP video surveillance systems
- Low-voltage cabling and infrastructure
- Gate operators and automated entry systems (LiftMaster DoorKing HySecurity or similar)
- Parking systems / PARCS equipment (a plus)
- Basic networking (IP addressing connectivity switches)
Qualifications
- 3 years of hands-on experience in low-voltage electronic security gate automation or related field
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical and low-voltage systems
- Ability to read basic drawings wiring diagrams and installation plans
- Experience working independently in a field service environment
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying job site conditions
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid drivers license and ability to pass background check and drug screening
Preferred (but not required)
- Experience with both security systems and gate/parking equipment
- Manufacturer certifications (LiftMaster DoorKing Genetec Avigilon etc.)
- Experience working for a security integrator or similar service-based company
