As a Senior BAS Controls Lead Technician you will play a vital front-line role in maintaining and optimizing Building Automation Systems (BAS) that directly support patient care safety and operational continuity.
This is a highly hands-on position focused on troubleshooting programming and maintaining complex control systems. Youll work directly in the field with Siemens and Automated Logic platforms ensuring real-time system reliability while driving energy efficiency improvements across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on programming troubleshooting and repair of BAS hardware and software
- Diagnose and resolve complex HVAC and controls issues in a live healthcare environment
- Modify control sequences and tune PID loops to improve system responsiveness and efficiency
- Work directly with field devices panels and controllers to maintain system performance
- Execute retro-commissioning tasks to optimize existing systems
- Conduct routine system backups and maintain accurate BAS databases
- Partner with energy teams to implement practical field-driven energy conservation measures
- Provide on-the-job technical guidance to team members while remaining actively involved in field work
- Follow all healthcare facility safety and compliance standards in daily operations
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of hands-on experience installing servicing and troubleshooting HVAC or BAS controls
- Strong working knowledge of Siemens Insight software (required)
- Proven experience working directly with BAS field hardware and control systems
- Expertise in open protocols such as BACnet MSTP Modbus and TCP/IP
- Solid understanding of HVAC mechanical systems and real-world system applications
- Comfortable working in active environments including ceilings mechanical rooms rooftops and tight spaces
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 75 lbs independently
- Valid drivers license and authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Siemens Desigo software and related platforms (Desigo CC ABT Site DXR)
- Previous experience in healthcare facilities or other mission-critical environments
- Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to quickly resolve field issues
- Familiarity with energy optimization and system performance improvements
- Experience supporting or executing retro-commissioning efforts
