Primary Purpose:
Facilitate the Admission Review and Dismissal (ARD) process to ensure compliance with federal state and local policies while promoting student-centered decision-making. Coordinate and monitor the development implementation and progress of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support effective collaboration among staff families and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree required
Valid Texas teaching certificate (preferred)
Special Education certificate (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of IDEA Section 504 and Texas Education Code related to special education
Strong understanding of ARD/IEP processes and compliance requirements
Ability to interpret data and translate into instructional planning
Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to facilitate collaborative meetings and build consensus
Proficiency with TEA systems (e.g. Frontline/SuccessEd PEIMS awareness preferred)
Experience:
Minimum of three years working with students with disabilities
Experience participating in ARD/IEP meetings required
Experience with compliance monitoring or instructional support preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
- Schedule and coordinate ARD meetings in compliance with state and federal timelines.
- Develop meeting agendas and ensure all required members are present.
- Facilitate ARD meetings using effective facilitation strategies to ensure collaboration and participation.
- Ensure all ARD documentation is accurate complete and compliant.
- Monitor implementation of IEPs accommodations and modifications.
- Maintain communication between special education and general education staff regarding student services.
- Track timelines and ensure compliance with annual requirements.
Instructional Support
- Collaborate with teachers to address student performance and support instructional planning.
- Assist in aligning IEP goals with grade-level standards and district expectations.
- Provide coaching and guidance to staff on ARD processes and best practices.
- Support implementation of evidence-based instructional strategies for students with disabilities.
- Assist in monitoring student progress toward IEP goals.
Communication and Family Engagement
- Serve as a liaison between school and families to ensure understanding of the ARD process.
- Foster positive relationships with parents and guardians through clear and consistent communication.
- Support parent participation and engagement during ARD meetings.
- Assist in resolving conflicts and facilitating productive discussions.
Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure compliance with IDEA TEA regulations and district policies.
- Compile maintain and submit required reports and documentation.
- Assist in preparation for audits monitoring and compliance reviews.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Collaborate with campus administrators diagnosticians related service providers and teachers.
- Support campus improvement efforts related to special education services.
- Promote inclusive practices and student success across settings.
Other
- Follow district safety protocols and procedures.
- Participate in professional development and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate districtwide travel to multiple work locations as assigned. Frequent interaction with staff students and parents.
