Job Title: Teacher Assistant
Location: Leesburg VA
Duration: 9 Weeks (Possibility of Extension)
Schedule: Monday Friday 8:30 AM 3:45 PM
Employment Type: Onsite
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant to support middle school students (grades 68) in a dynamic classroom environment. This role involves assisting lead teachers with instructional delivery classroom management and providing individualized support to enhance student learning and development.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher with preparing and implementing lesson plans and instructional materials
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to reinforce learning concepts
- Help maintain a positive safe and structured classroom environment
- Support classroom management transitions and daily routines
- Assist with grading assignments quizzes and homework
- Prepare educational materials such as handouts and visual aids
- Supervise students during non-instructional times (lunch recess transitions)
- Provide additional support to students with special needs or learning challenges
- Maintain student records and assist with documentation
- Communicate effectively with teachers staff and occasionally parents
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Education or related field preferred
- Prior experience working with middle school students preferred
- Basic understanding of classroom management and instructional support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Patience adaptability and a passion for student development
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with educational technology and classroom tools
- Experience supporting diverse learners or special education students
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
