PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Recruit and retain current AISD students to become future educators with Amarillo ISD.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree in Education Human Resources or related fields
Masters degree - preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of effective diversity recruitment practices
Strong organizational verbal and written communication technological and interpersonal skills
Excellent conflict resolution and problem solving skills
Initiative to utilize technology applications Google TalentEd Handshake etc.
Ability to connect with local entities colleges and universities
Innovative self-starter who is able to develop new initiatives
Work Conditions
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including keyboarding; reaching
Lifting: Lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds)
Environment: Must be able to work with frequent interruptions and maintain professional demeanor under stress; must be able to work flexible hours
Travel: Frequent district-wide travel and moderate out of district travel
Regular attendance is an essential function.
Minimum Experience:
Three (3) years of Human Resources or Education experience
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Assist recruiting by implementing enhanced recruiting strategies that will increase our pool of qualified employment candidates to better represent minorities females and individuals with disabilities.
- Identify diverse talent candidates through proactive sourcing.
- Develop plan and recruit Cultivating Our Rising Educator (CORE) students.
- Screen CORE applicants and assist in the selection of CORE students each school year.
- Provide leadership in the development of strong mentorship for CORE students.
- Assist CORE students in the application process to college and support the students through their 4 years of college.
- Maintain positive working relationships with all AISD campuses Amarillo College and WTAMU.
- Develop and implement strategies to reach a wider audience in recruiting for available positions.
- Seek new ways (virtually or in person) to reach college and universities and promote the District and employment opportunities.
- Work closely with WTAMU and AC in attracting and retaining diverse student populations.
- Ensure confidentiality.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.
- Perform such other tasks and accepts such other responsibilities as may be assigned.
