Join a dedicated team at the University of WisconsinMadisons newest student support hub. As a Program Coordinator in the First-Generation and Limited-Income Services office you will utilize your expertise to develop and implement programs that enhance the learning experience sense of belonging and overall success of first-generation and low-income (FGLI) students. You will lead the design coordination and delivery of initiatives aimed at building campuswide capacity to support FGLI Badgers. This role demonstrates a strong commitment to fostering a welcoming equitable and inclusive environment for students colleagues and campus partners.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Support supervise and actively mentor student interns fostering their personal and professional development while cultivating a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment
- Generates and analyzes reports of curricular and unit outcomes
- Creates and maintains schedules logistics and resources for one or multiple student affairs programs activities and/or services
Designs implements and evaluates programming resources and services that strengthen belonging well being and academic success for first-generation and limited-income students. Proactively identifies structural and cultural barriers impacting FGLI student experiences and develops responsive equity driven strategies to advance access retention and overall student thriving.
- Writes edits and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns
Develops programming resources and services to foster a sense of belonging promote student well-being and address barriers to success for first-gen and limited- income students
- Organizes student-focused programming and resources to promote new and ongoing educational initiatives
- Serves as a subject matter expert regarding student affairs to internal and external stakeholders
Provides high-quality support supervision and mentorship to student interns intentionally fostering their personal academic and professional growth. Cultivates a collaborative identity affirming and development focused team environment that empowers interns to meaningfully contribute to FGLI Services mission

First-Generation and Limited-Income (FGLI) Services is a central hub for connection support and success for students who are the first in their families to attend college or come from limited-income backgrounds. The office provides a welcoming space where students can build community explore campus opportunities and access resources designed specifically for first-generation and limited-income addition FGLI Services offers training and professional development across campus to equip faculty staff and student workers with the knowledge and skills needed to better support FGLI students. Through programs events and collaborative initiatives the unit fosters belonging and empowers both current and future first-generation and limited-income students to succeed academically personally and professionally.
FGLI Services is part of Student Affairs at the University of WisconsinMadison led by the vice chancellor for student affairs. Our staff is dedicated to serving students and to helping them succeed in and out of the classroom in areas including health and well-being student success and belonging leadership and engagement and student advocacy.
Compensation:
The expected minimum starting salary for this position is $50000.00 annually. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
