AIRLIFT NORTHWEST - COMMUNICATIONS CENTERhas an opportunity for aMEDICAL AIRLIFT COMMUNICATIONS LEAD.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 36 hours per week (90% FTE)
  • Remote Available


DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Oversee specific operational areas within the Communications Center. Lead assigned program areas support daily operations and ensure assigned areas function smoothly and are aligned with the overall objectives of the center.

This position is a working lead required to work a minimum of one scheduled twelve (12) hour shift a week as a Medical Airlift Communications Specialist;

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Team Leadership & Oversight Assign instruct and review the work of team members to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Operational Management Oversee daily operations within the assigned program area ensuring smooth workflows and adherence to protocols.
  • Mission-Driven Support Ensure all activities align with the programs mission and established guidelines to maintain high standards of service.


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead specific operational areas or programs as assigned ensuring alignment with the Communications Centers goals and standards
  • Assist the Communications Center supervisor and/or manager by overseeing specific tasks and initiatives within the assigned area
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures within the assigned focus areas ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members within the assigned areas
  • Assume decision-making responsibilities within assigned areas in the absence of a supervisor or manager ensuring continuity of operations and adherence to protocols
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy in all communication and logistical processes fostering a culture of efficiency and reliability within the team focusing on patient care and safety
  • Monitor staff on comprehension of and training needs regarding regulatory compliance for HIPAA billing/reimbursement requirements for Medicare/Medicaid other third-party payers and regulatory agencies
  • Support the Airlift Northwest quality improvement (QI) and process improvement activities by participating in committees as assigned and developing department-specific programs
  • Attend monthly and quarterly meetings and all other meetings as directed by the manager
  • Routinely fill in as required during periods of staffing shortages (e.g. staff sick leave and vacation leave)
  • Collaborate with Communications Center staff Communications Center management regional operations managers and other departments to improve and coordinate services between the service areas

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Communications Management or other fields related to the role.
  • one year of experience in management or supervision in a health care setting.
    OR
  • An equivalent of education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license/certification/registration.

The regions first air medical transport service Airlift Northwest has flown more than 100000 patients since its founding in 1982. Its helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft are strategically located at eight bases throughout the Pacific Northwest and Southeast Alaska. On-board medical experts handle everything from advanced cardiac life support to neonatal resuscitation all while flying patients to the best available care for their condition.

Compensation Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$31.53 hourly

$45.13 hourly
