Job Summary
Title: Michelin Electrical Project Engineer (Medium & Low Voltage)
Location: Fort Wayne IN (Onsite only -no remote) Need local or within in 1 hour commutable
Duration: Long-term contract
Work Authorization: USC/GC
Visa: USC/GC/GC-EAD/H4-EAD only
The Need
Support electrical scope for building construction and utility modification projects
Work across new and existing industrial facilities
Partner with internal engineering teams and external engineering/construction firms
Immediate need with no defined end date
Role reviewed regularly based on investment plans and engineering workload
Primary focus on medium- and low-voltage electrical systems
Periodic responsibility supporting non-electrical trades
Work Schedule & Travel
Standard schedule: 40 hours/week Monday-Friday
Schedule flexibility required based on project and plant needs
Occasional weekend holiday and plant shutdown work required
Overtime may be approved but is not typical
Expected travel up to 30%
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Develop project specifications with internal and external partners
Execute electrical design studies for process utilities and facility capacity
Oversee development of detailed electrical design packages
Coordinate with multiple external engineering partners
Track and manage procurement of electrical materials and equipment
Manage full construction lifecycle including:
Project cost and schedule estimates
Final design
Bidding and contractor selection
Contract and change management
Installation commissioning and start-up
Ensure final project documentation and closeout in an industrial plant environment
Assist with coordination of non-electrical trades (mechanical civil etc.) as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Working knowledge of electrical design standards
Experience with NEC regulations and NFPA 70E requirements
Project management or project coordination experience in industrial manufacturing or commercial construction environments
Preferred Experience
3-5 years of consulting engineering experience as an electrical engineer
3-5 years of construction project or site management experience
