JOB SUMMARY

Provides customer service and office/program support. Serves as the initial contact for customers both in person and over-the-phone for Division related information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of closely related experience directly related to these duties.

Preferrence may be given to applicants who are bilingual in English and Spanish and have the ability to read write and speak both English and Spanish fluently without the use of a translation app or program.

Due to the nature of this position the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.

A valid Drivers License accepted by the State of Utah is required at the time of hire. A valid Drivers License issued by the State of Utah must be obtained within six (6) months of hire to operate a county vehicle.

Due to the nature of this role proof of vaccination may be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Answers and directs incoming phone calls to appropriate staff.
  • Greets visitors and performs customer service functions.
  • Processes and issues monetary vouchers certificates and permits according to policies and procedures.
  • Researches problems and initiates resolutions utilizing existing policies and procedures.
  • Schedules functions including client registration and client appointment reminders.
  • Distributes public health information forms and other program documents.
  • Analyzes and maintains program reports logs and lists.
  • Types and edits documents and makes appropriate revisions.
  • Processes sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Maintains office equipment.

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

Knowledge of:

  • Basic arithmetic calculations
  • Modern office practices and procedures

Skills and Abilities to:

  • Work with computer software related to job specific duties
  • Operate standard office equipment
  • Produce written documents forms and charts
  • Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
  • Perform excellent customer service and work cooperatively within a team environment
  • Create and maintain records files and reports
  • Understand and follow broad objectives and instructions
  • Gather and condense relevant and useful information
  • Work with minimum supervision and act independently

TEMPORARY POSITIONS:

An At Will FLSA non-exempt employee is not eligible for County benefits and must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month. At Will employees may be terminated for any reason without notice and without a pre-termination hearing

  • Are not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy.
  • Are not considered merit employees.

Additional Information

This position works 24 up to 40 hours a week during clinic hours Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM.

This position is currently located at the Ellis SHIPP Public Health Center at 4535 S. 5600 West West Valley City 84120 but applicants must be able to travel between other clinics as needed.
