About the role
We are looking for a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our data team. You will be responsible for end-to-end development of BI solutionsfrom designing data models and ETL workflows to building interactive dashboards that drive strategic growth.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in Business & data analysis expert-level SQL skills and high proficiency in modern BI platforms like Power BI or Looker or Tableau.
A sound business understanding and problem-solving abilities along with good communication skills are also essential. As a BI Developer you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our business intelligence system to drive informed decision-making.
Role Responsibilities:
BI Solution Design: Design implement and maintain scalable BI tools and infrastructure including data models and reporting systems.
ETL & Data Integration: Develop and manage ETL/ELT processes to extract data from various sources (SQL APIs cloud) and load it into central repositories like data warehouses.
Dashboard Development: Create visually compelling and interactive dashboards executive scorecards and reports using tools such as Power BI Tableau or Looker.
Data Modeling: Build and optimize logical and physical data models using dimensional modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas) for high-performance querying.
Query Optimization: Write and refine complex SQL queries and stored procedures to ensure data is retrieved efficiently.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with business leaders to translate high-level requirements into technical specifications and meaningful KPIs.
AI Integration: (2026 Trend) Implement AI-driven features like Microsoft Copilot for natural language querying and automated narrative summaries within reports.
Maintenance & Security: Troubleshoot system issues and implement Row-Level Security (RLS) to protect sensitive data.
Minimum Requirements:
Technical Mastery:
SQL: Expert proficiency in writing and optimizing complex queries.
BI Platforms: Hands-on experience with Power BI (including DAX and Power Query) or Tableau.
Databases: Strong knowledge of DBMS (SQL Server PostgreSQL Snowflake BigQuery Databricks etc.).
Languages: Familiarity with Python or R for advanced data analysis and scripting.
Understanding business logic and financial metrics.
Soft Skills:
Communication: Ability to explain complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
Problem-Solving: Proactive analytical thinking to identify trends and data anomalies.
Experience: Typically 35 years in a BI development or data engineering role.
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Data Science IT or a related field.
Preferred Certifications
Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
