Job Summary

The AI Innovation & Law Program at Texas Law invites applications to become our Fellow for AI in Legal Practice working directly with the the head of the Program (Kevin Frazier) and the Dean (Bobby Chesney) in order to lead the Programs work relating to the adoption of AI tools in legal practice and the implications of that adoption for legal education.

The Fellow for AI in Legal Practice will have primary responsibility for monitoring the jagged frontier of AI tool adoptions across various lanes of legal practice and for advising the dean on how best to translate those insights into sensible innovations (curricular and extracurricular) for our educational program and for the upskilling of faculty and staff. The Fellow will have teaching responsibilities focused on these matters and will be expected to play an important role in the larger life of the AI Innovation and Law Program. Among other things this will include orchestration of an AI Legal Practice Lab in which the Fellow and students will test and report on the capabilities of various practice-related AI tools. Creativity and entrepreneurship in this role is strongly encouraged. The Fellow also will play a leading role for the program with respect to engagement with the legal tech community.



The successful candidate will have a J.D. and demonstrable expertise with respect to AI in general the legal tech industry and the ongoing evolution of AI adoption in various lanes of legal practice. The candidate ideally will have teaching experience (with the ability to provide student evaluations for such courses); strong public speaking/communication skills; experience with curriculum development; comfort working collaboratively with the dean the program lead and all the members of our community (faculty students and staff) no matter their preexisting level of comfort with technology.
