Job Summary
Nestled in the heart of Estero Bay near the Gulf West Bay Club is a member-owned gated community and private golf club encompassing nearly 900 acres - 500 of which are dedicated to conservation. The community boasts 790 residences including estate homes high-rise condos and villas all set amidst lush tropical landscaping and bordering Estero Bay and Gulf. West Bay recently underwent a $40 million renovation of the club amenities and golf course.
Located in the picturesque surroundings of West Bays community the Bay House facility includes a resort-style pool state-of-the-art fitness center spa culinary academy card and meeting rooms and the Aqua Café offering both indoor and outdoor dining. West Bays tennis facility offers center court viewing on all eight Har-Tru courts. Additionally the Sports Park offers six pickleball courts two bocce courts and a dog park. Residents also enjoy kayaking canoeing boating and fishing all from the West Bay River Parks on-premises dock featuring a private boat launch and boat storage.
A unique feature of the community is West Bays private Beach Club which underwent a complete reconstruction completed in March 2024. Residents enjoy direct access to their beachfront club along the Gulf complete with a full-service restaurant valet service and dedicated beach attendants providing beach service. Within the community the West Bay Golf Club is anchored around its 18-hole championship golf course. Designed by esteemed golf course architects Pete and PB Dye renovated by Fry-Straka golf enthusiasts seek out West Bay to experience its unique and challenging design. The Golf Club is home to multiple dining venues that range from casual dining including the Niblick Grille and Signature Bar to fine dining at the Golf House. The club offers a maximum of 300 golf memberships 150 social memberships and currently has a wait list. While the club remains open year-round the peak of member activity is from November through April.
About The Position:
The HR and Accounting specialist will work with the Director of Finance and Assistant Controller to manage daily HR and accounting functions for our private golf club and community association. This dual-role position requires a highly organized detail-oriented professional with strong interpersonal skills and experience in both financial and HR processes. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with regulations maintain accurate financial records and support a positive workplace culture.
Job Responsibilities:
Human Resources (HR):
Coordinates oversees and administers the recruiting onboarding and welcoming of new team
members including the management and coordination of the H2B staffing program.
Oversees the maintenance analysis and communication of all employee records.
Ensures compliance with policies and procedures. Upon identification of inconsistent practices
makes recommendations for improvement.
Participates in developing department goals objectives and systems.
Directs and administers team programs and activities including but not limited to employee
recognition and appreciation celebrations employee functions and employee safety and wellness programs.
Administers compensation program; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
Reviews and processes bi-weekly payroll.
Accounting:
Assists with all Accounting functions including Accounts Payable billing payment processing.
Assists with month end close and annual audit.
Prepares miscellaneous analytical reports for Director of Finance when requested.
Prepares weekly payroll analysis reports.
Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance Human Resources Business Administration or a
related field preferred or years of comparable experience.
Experience in a country club hospitality or member-based organization is a plus.
Knowledge of HR processes laws and regulations (e.g. FMLA ADA FLSA) and accounting principles (GAAP).
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial and employee record-keeping.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with staff members and external partners.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook).
Proficiency in Jonas or other Private Country Club software.
Proficiency with UKG or other payroll processing software.
