Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Medical Surgical
Location: Syracuse NY
Shift: Night Shift 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
Seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide patient care in a Medical-Surgical setting with potential support in the Emergency Department based on experience. The candidate should be comfortable working in an acute care environment and delivering patient-centered care with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of RNs and physicians
- Assist with patient assessments including taking and recording vital signs
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Administer injections and assist with clinical procedures
- Support patient care activities including hygiene mobility and comfort
- Maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Assist with scheduling chart preparation and general administrative duties
- Coordinate with insurance providers and physicians for authorizations and referrals
- Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas
- Observe and report patient responses to treatments
- Participate in unit-based care activities and nursing care plans
Required Qualifications:
- Active New York State LPN License
- CPR Certification (or ability to obtain/renew)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in inpatient or acute care settings
- Experience in Medical-Surgical or Emergency Department environments
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
