About the Role
Our well-established community school in Wolverhampton is looking for a reliable and proactive Site Assistant to join our team immediately. This is a hands-on position that plays a vital role in keeping the school environment safe clean and fully operational for students staff and visitors every day.
Key Responsibilities
You will take ownership of the schools premises ensuring that facilities are maintained to a high standard. Daily duties will include:
General maintenance repairs and minor improvements around the school grounds
Monitoring and securing the school premises including setting alarms and reporting issues
Supporting health and safety compliance across buildings and equipment
Assisting with moving furniture setting up classrooms or event spaces
Collaborating with external contractors when required
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is practical flexible and hands-on. Previous experience in maintenance janitorial or site management roles is preferred but enthusiasm and a can-do attitude are just as important. You will need:
A strong sense of responsibility and reliability
Basic DIY and maintenance skills
Awareness of health and safety procedures
Good communication skills to liaise with staff students and visitors
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
