An opportunity has arisen for a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef to join a well-established country house hotel operating within a small privately owned group.
This is a hands-on role within a relaxed but structured kitchen supporting a steady mix of restaurant service weddings corporate functions and events.
The Role
Working alongside an experienced Executive Chef (who oversees both sites) and a small stable team you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
You will:
- Support daily service across restaurant functions and events
- Work closely with a strong Chef de Partie already in place
- Maintain good organisation prep standards and consistency
- Assist with stock control and general kitchen management
- Step up and lead sections confidently during service
- Occasionally support the sister site when required
This is a practical on-the-tools role ideal for a chef who enjoys being part of a team rather than managing from the office.
The Kitchen
The food offering is fresh seasonal and modern British delivered across:
- Relaxed restaurant dining
- Weddings and private functions
- Corporate events
The style is quality-led but not fine dining focusing on consistency good produce and well-executed service rather than overly technical menus.
The Package
- Up to 35000 salary (depending on experience)
- Monthly tips paid via payroll
- Live-in accommodation available (13 per day)
- 5 days out of 7 (rota-based)
- Support from an experienced Executive Chef
- Long-term stability within a small owner-led group
The Ideal Candidate
- Chef de Partie ready to step up or current Junior Sous
- Experience in hotels gastro pubs or fresh-food kitchens
- Comfortable working across both restaurant and events
- Reliable organised and calm under pressure
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Driving licence preferred (due to occasional travel between sites)
