Optical Assistant (Experienced Independent Practice)
Job Type: Full-time Monday to Saturday - ( every sat - closed Sundays and Bank Holidays)

We are looking for an experienced Optical Assistant to join a friendly independent opticians practice that prides itself on delivering exceptional personalised patient care.

The Role
As an Optical Assistant you will play a key role in supporting both the clinical and retail aspects of the practice ensuring every patient receives a warm professional and tailored experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and providing outstanding customer service
- Supporting the Optometrist during clinics
- Dispensing spectacles and advising on frames lenses and coatings
- Taking accurate measurements (e.g. PDs heights)
- Pre-screening patients (OCT fields autorefractor etc.)
- Managing appointments and diary coordination
- Handling queries in person and over the phone
- Maintaining a clean organised and professional practice environment
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Optical Assistant is essential
- Must have experience working in an independent opticians
- Strong dispensing and product knowledge
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient-first approach with attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
- Passion for delivering high-quality personalised care
