Contract Specialist
Job Summary
Our client a fast-growing global technology company operating in the commodities energy and maritime data space is looking to hire a Contract Specialist to join their Legal Risk and Compliance team.
This is a high-impact role where you will partner closely with commercial and technical teams supporting global deal execution while ensuring legal and compliance standards are met.
Description
- Draft review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including Master Service Agreements general terms and conditions order forms data access agreements and partnership contracts.
- Lead contract negotiations end-to-end identifying risks and delivering pragmatic business-oriented solutions.
- Act as a trusted legal partner to stakeholders across Sales Finance Product Marketing Partnerships and Engineering.
- Provide clear commercially focused legal advice balancing risk mitigation with business objectives.
- Support the sales cycle by enabling efficient deal closure while safeguarding legal and compliance requirements.
- Communicate legal risks effectively to senior stakeholders offering practical alternatives and fallback positions.
- Manage multiple parallel negotiations in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
- Identify negotiation trends and contribute to improving contract templates playbooks and internal processes.
- Maintain contract lifecycle management systems (e.g. Ironclad) ensuring accuracy and reporting integrity.
- Monitor regulatory developments relevant to commercial contracting and public procurement.
Requirements
- Masters degree in Law or equivalent relevant experience.
- 35 years of experience in a contract-focused role within an in-house or corporate environment.
- Proven experience negotiating commercial contracts including Master Service Agreements.
- Experience within SaaS technology or data-driven environments is strongly preferred.
- Ability to independently manage standard and moderately complex negotiations.
- Strong understanding of commercial risk and contract lifecycle processes.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Confident stakeholder management skills including exposure to senior business stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with a pragmatic solution-oriented mindset.
