Job Title Service Delivery Engineer
Job Location: Kochi
Job Summary: The Service Delivery Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end execution of data center professional services including infrastructure deployment network configuration and structured cabling.
This role involves overseeing project planning ensuring compliance with industry standards and coordinating with internal teams vendors and clients to deliver high-quality solutions within scope timeline and budget. Success in this position is measured by the seamless execution of projects and the ability to meet or exceed customer expectations through technical expertise and effective communication.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
Oversee and execute data center professional services including racking and stacking hardware installation and cable management.
Conduct site surveys and assessments to evaluate infrastructure requirements for deployment.
Prepare detailed documentation including floor plans rack elevations power calculations and cable length estimations.
Develop High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) for data center projects.
Design and maintain technical documentation such as port mapping drawings and deployment playbooks.
Plan and execute structured cabling and fiber optic deployments including point-to-point (P2P) connections and NDT documentation.
Manage end-to-end cabling implementation ensuring proper routing labeling and adherence to industry standards.
Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure accurate material procurement.
Perform initial switch configurations VLAN setups and IP assignments for network devices.
Implement and support InfiniBand technology including subnet manager configurations and high-performance computing (HPC) deployments.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for networking storage and server infrastructure.
Oversee project planning execution and milestone tracking to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
Develop and manage project dashboards timelines and deployment playbooks.
Prepare and review Method of Procedure (MOP) documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Coordinate logistics material movement and site readiness to facilitate seamless deployments.
Act as a liaison between internal teams vendors and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
Conduct quality control (QC) inspections to validate installations configurations and system performance before handover.
Maintain proper documentation of project execution for compliance and audit purposes.
Manage client relationships by addressing technical concerns and providing expert guidance to meet customer expectations.
Ensure service delivery meets quality benchmarks and aligns with customer requirements.
Create and maintain handover documents knowledge base (KB) articles and training materials.
Provide training and knowledge transfer to new hires and interns.
Continuously evaluate new technologies industry trends and process improvements to enhance service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Optimize project dashboards progress reports expense tracking and procurement processes to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
Provide overtime and weekend support as required to meet project deadlines.
Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science Information Technology Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in data center operations network infrastructure and IT hardware deployment.
Strong knowledge of structured cabling fiber optics and network configurations (e.g. VLAN IP assignments InfiniBand).
Proficiency in creating technical documentation including High-Level Designs (HLD) Low- Level Designs (LLD) and Method of Procedure (MOP) documents.
Hands-on experience with racking and stacking hardware installation and cable management.
Strong project management skills including the ability to manage timelines budgets and resources effectively.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for networking storage and server infrastructure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams vendors and clients.
Ability to conduct site surveys prepare floor plans and perform power and cable length calculations.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.
Preferred:
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and hybrid data center environments.
Prior experience in training or mentoring junior team members or interns.
Strong analytical skills to evaluate new technologies and industry trends for process improvement.
Certifications:
CCNA CCNP CDCP ITIL or equivalent.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data center operations network infrastructure and
project management.
Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments and InfiniBand technology.
Experience with project management tools (e.g. Asana) and documentation tools (e.g. AutoCAD).
