Job Summary

About the Position

A well-established structural engineering firm in Southeast Florida is looking for a qualified Structural Inspector to assist with building restoration and threshold inspection projects. This role provides the opportunity to work on a wide range of restoration and new construction assignments in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience with structural inspections a strong understanding of the Florida Building Code and excellent technical and communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete special inspections for restoration and new construction projects
  • Inspect swing stages and scaffolding with training provided if necessary
  • Support the Construction Administration process including:
    • Reviewing shop drawings
    • Reviewing submittals
    • Responding to RFIs
    • Conducting field observations
  • Participate in meetings with clients contractors and design professionals
  • Oversee multiple projects and ensure deadlines are met
  • Produce accurate and detailed inspection reports



Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet at least one of the following qualifications:

  • Degree from a four-year engineering program in Civil Structural or Architectural Engineering
  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • Licensed Building Inspector or General Contractor
  • Four (4) years of Threshold Building inspection training on non-threshold buildings under the supervision of a Special Inspector responsible for the trainees work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT certification
  • PE RA BN CGC or Building Inspector license
  • Experience with concrete restoration projects
  • Experience performing Threshold Building inspections

Required Skills:

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet one of the following: Bachelors degree in Civil Structural or Architectural Engineering Professional degree in Architecture Registered Building Inspector or General Contractor license 4 years of threshold inspection training under a Special Inspector Preferred Qualifications Bachelors in Civil Engineering EIT BN CGC PE or RA license Experience in concrete restoration Knowledge of Florida Building Code (FBC) ASCE AISC and ACI Key Responsibilities Perform special inspections on restoration and new construction projects Inspect swing stages and scaffolding (training provided if needed) Assist with construction administration (shop drawings submittals RFIs field observations) Participate in project meetings with clients and internal teams Manage multiple projects and ensure timely execution Ideal candidates are organized technically strong and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment.
