About the Role
An established engineering firm in Southeast Florida is seeking an experienced Structural Inspector to support threshold inspections and structural restoration projects. This position offers hands-on involvement with both restoration and new construction work in a fast-paced collaborative setting.
The successful candidate will bring experience in structural inspections working knowledge of the Florida Building Code and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform special inspections on both restoration and new construction projects
- Conduct swing stage and scaffold inspections with training available if needed
- Provide support during Construction Administration activities including:
- Shop drawing reviews
- Submittal reviews
- RFI review and response
- Field observations
- Attend meetings with clients contractors and design teams
- Handle multiple projects while maintaining schedules and deadlines
- Prepare complete organized and detailed inspection reports
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must satisfy at least one of the following:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year program in Civil Structural or Architectural Engineering
- Professional degree in Architecture
- Current registration as a Building Inspector or General Contractor
- Four years of Threshold Building inspection training on non-threshold structures under the supervision of a Special Inspector who maintained responsible charge of the work
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT certification
- Current PE RA BN CGC or Building Inspector license
- Background in concrete restoration projects
- Previous Threshold Building inspection experience
