About the Opportunity
A respected structural engineering firm in Southeast Florida is seeking a Structural Inspector to support threshold inspection and building restoration projects. This role offers the chance to contribute to a variety of structural restoration and new construction assignments within a collaborative and fast-moving environment.
The ideal candidate will have a background in structural inspections familiarity with the Florida Building Code and strong technical organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct special inspections for structural restoration and new construction projects
- Perform inspections of scaffolding and swing stages with training available if needed
- Support Construction Administration activities including:
- Shop drawing review
- Review of submittals
- RFI coordination
- Field observations
- Attend project meetings with clients contractors and design professionals
- Manage several projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules and deadlines
- Create clear organized and detailed inspection reports
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Completion of a four-year degree program in Civil Structural or Architectural Engineering
- Professional degree in Architecture
- Registration as a Building Inspector or General Contractor
- Four (4) years of Threshold Building inspection training on non-threshold buildings under the direct supervision of a Special Inspector responsible for the trainees work
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT certification
- Active PE RA BN CGC or Building Inspector license
- Experience with concrete restoration work
- Prior experience performing Threshold Building inspections
