Job Summary
- Engineer Audits & Compliance (Dairy & Food)
- Hamilton Waikato Full Time Hybrid Working
Were looking for a detail-focused and analytical Engineer to join our growing team in Hamilton. This is a varied and rewarding role where youll deliver high-quality audits inspections and evaluations across dairy and non-dairy operations.
Youll play a key role in verifying compliance with MPI regulations industry standards and customer requirements providing accurate reporting and trusted technical expertise.
About the role
In this role you will:
- Conduct audits and heat treatment inspections to ensure compliance with MPI Acts Regulations Standards and importing country requirements
- Evaluate operator premises and heat treatments under MPI Recognised Person approvals
- Complete accurate audit reports and follow up on non-conformances
- Maintain and develop technical expertise through training skill checks and industry forums
- Build strong relationships with customers regulators and internal teams
- Support project planning client management and contract reviews
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold health & safety standards
- Manage time and expense records and support special projects as required
About you
Youre a confident and analytical professional who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively. You bring strong technical knowledge and a high level of attention to detail.
You will also have:
- Experience in dairy food processing or manufacturing environments
- 5 years of relevant industry or auditing experience
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and quality systems (Advanced HACCP awareness desirable)
- Excellent written communication and data analysis skills (advanced Excel skills essential)
- A relevant tertiary qualification (BE BTech) Dairy Diploma or MSc in Dairy Science (advantageous)
- The ability to interpret complex technical and regulatory information with confidence
