Job Summary

  • Hamilton Waikato Full Time Hybrid Working

Were looking for a detail-focused and analytical Engineer to join our growing team in Hamilton. This is a varied and rewarding role where youll deliver high-quality audits inspections and evaluations across dairy and non-dairy operations.

Youll play a key role in verifying compliance with MPI regulations industry standards and customer requirements providing accurate reporting and trusted technical expertise.

About the role

In this role you will:

  • Conduct audits and heat treatment inspections to ensure compliance with MPI Acts Regulations Standards and importing country requirements
  • Evaluate operator premises and heat treatments under MPI Recognised Person approvals
  • Complete accurate audit reports and follow up on non-conformances
  • Maintain and develop technical expertise through training skill checks and industry forums
  • Build strong relationships with customers regulators and internal teams
  • Support project planning client management and contract reviews
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold health & safety standards
  • Manage time and expense records and support special projects as required

About you

Youre a confident and analytical professional who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively. You bring strong technical knowledge and a high level of attention to detail.

You will also have:

  • Experience in dairy food processing or manufacturing environments
  • 5 years of relevant industry or auditing experience
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and quality systems (Advanced HACCP awareness desirable)
  • Excellent written communication and data analysis skills (advanced Excel skills essential)
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (BE BTech) Dairy Diploma or MSc in Dairy Science (advantageous)
  • The ability to interpret complex technical and regulatory information with confidence
