Were looking for a Senior Staff Magnetics Engineer to join our Research and Development Centre located in Wigram Christchurch.
The Senior Staff Magnetics Engineer will be responsible for leading the development of Enphase simulation tools focused on the development of magnetics and power electronics for Enphase micro-inverters.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Develop simulation tools to design Enphase next generation micro-inverters
- Analyse real-world circuit and magnetics behaviour to optimise simulation accuracy
- Design high frequency magnetics for high volume manufacturing in micro-inverters
- Lead research into new magnetics materials and winding configurations
- Mentor other hardware engineers in the use of FEA and Enphase simulation tools
Skills and Qualifications:
- BE BSc Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 10 years minimum experience in developing products from concept stage to market launch
- Expert in the use of Multiphysics FEA simulation tools (e.g. Comsol Ansys CST FEMM or equivalents) for high frequency magnetics designs
- Experience in scripting and circuit simulation tools e.g. Python Spice
- Experience designing power analogue or digital electronics circuits
- Exposure to C or FPGA design would be considered an advantage
