About the Role:
An Alternative Provision school in Thurrock is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Headteacher with a strong background in Maths to join their leadership team on a full-time long-term basis from September 2025.This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in a unique educational setting supporting vulnerable and disengaged students. Youll take a leading role in the strategic development of the Maths curriculum while also supporting whole-school improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on the development and delivery of a high-quality Maths curriculum
Support teaching staff with planning differentiation and behaviour management
Drive improvement in Maths outcomes across the school
Contribute to whole-school leadership decisions and strategic planning
Line-manage staff and support professional development
Work closely with families external agencies and pastoral staff to support pupils holistic development
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Maths in a secondary or AP setting
Strong understanding of the challenges faced in alternative provision
Proven leadership skills and a proactive solution-focused attitude
Excellent communication organisation and interpersonal skills
Required Experience:
