PG Bison is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Buyer to join our Procurement team. The successful candidate will play a key role in sourcing negotiating and managing suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement while supporting operational efficiency across the business.
Key Competencies
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Sound financial and cost analysis ability
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables VLOOKUPs)
- Experience working on ERP procurement systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational ability
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to compliance
Duties & ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing and quality
- Negotiate favourable commercial terms with suppliers
- Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives in line with procurement targets
- Convert approved requisitions into purchase orders accurately and efficiently
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Resolve procurement-related queries to ensure smooth operations
- Support stock planning and replenishment across sites
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure service delivery standards are met
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
Minimum RequirementsMinimum Requirements
- BCom in Procurement / Supply Chain or equivalent
- CIPS Level 3 or CPSM (advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar procurement role within a technical environment
