Job Summary
Description
RPO Recruitments client a well-established construction company based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town is seeking an experienced Construction Buyer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and commercially minded individual with strong procurement experience within the building construction sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure materials plant and services in line with project requirements
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
- Manage supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery of materials
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with project timelines
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with site teams to ensure uninterrupted workflow
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
- Track costs and assist with budget control and cost-saving initiatives
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Buyer within the building construction industry
- Relevant qualification in Procurement Supply Chain Management Construction Management or similar
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and supplier networks
- Proven negotiation and cost management skills
- Proficient in MS Office and procurement systems
- Excellent communication organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
