Schedule:Beginning with the 2026-2027 School Year
Job Summary: Work with students to develop social studies knowledge and skills that are fundamental to their success; to discover and develop special talents of students in the field of social studies.
Qualifications:
- State of Michigan Teacher Certification required
- RX or CX endorsement preferred
Essential Job Functions:
- Successfully educate students on state and district standards.
- Consistent planning and delivery of effective instruction aligned with the district-provided curriculum.
- Implement strategies to enhance students learning.
- Regularly assess students proficiency levels and adapt instruction accordingly.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Foster respect and understanding among students of all backgrounds.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress to parents/guardians.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.
- Attend staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional strategies.
- Develop standards for critical analysis through group discussions.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel reach with hands and arms climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl talk hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and ability to adjust/focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work may be performed indoors and/or outdoors. The employee is directly responsible for the safety well-being and work output of students.
Mental Functions:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to compare analyze communicate both orally and in writing copy coordinate instruct compute synthesize evaluate use interpersonal skills compile and negotiate.

In accordance with the FHEA Master Agreement.
Terms of Employment:
