Printpack Bloomington is looking for candidates to fill a Slitter Operator position on weekend days.

The Slitter Operator is responsible for the setup operation quality production

general adjustments of the machine and general operational maintenance.

This position will work a 12-hour night shift (7AM-7PM) on Friday Saturday and Sunday for a total of 36 hours a week (work 36 get paid for 40).

Pay for this position will be $21.77.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate slitter in order to:
- Ensure safety
- Perform to quality waste and production standards and goals
- Meet or exceed the customers (both internal and external) expectations
- Meet the highest of quality standards
Communicate orally and/or in writing to other departments for resolution of mechanical problems reporting defective material coordination of job preparations changeovers and daily shift information
Input production data to a computer accurately and timely to include waste WIPtime codes raw materials etc.
Ensure your own safety while operating the machine and that of those assisting with operations
Prepare master rolls for slitting
Place rolls in machine and prepare for splicing
Properly segregate and label all materials (as appropriate) for work in process rewinds trash and hold)
Assist in removing rolls from rewind (as necessary)
Remove and weigh startup rolls/materials at beginning of job
Perform daily housekeeping duties to keep area clean and organized during setup run and end of shift
Remove and weigh all waste.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older
Stable work history

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

Strong time management skills and ability to follow instructions
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot problems
Must have the ability to accurately read a tape measure
Manufacturing/machine operation experience

Physical Demands:

Lifting up to 50 pounds
Must be able to climb kneel bend squat
Must be able to grasp push pull and have fine motor skills
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to wear PPE including but not limited to hearing protection steel-toe shoes safety glasses
