PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Serve as the districts main point of contact for Student Information Systems (SIS)
operations functionality and data services. Maintain the day-to-day Skyward system
management provide technical support and troubleshooting across campuses. Lead
district training initiatives develop user documentation and promote consistent accurate
and effective use of district data systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education / Certification
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge / Skills
Strong knowledge of districts student information system (SIS) software Skyward SMS
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to maintain confidentiality of student data and district information
Proficiency in the use of computers and software to develop documents spreadsheets and
presentations (Microsoft Office and Google products)
Ability to develop and maintain technical and training documentation
Proficient typing keyboarding and file maintenance skills
Ability to meet established deadlines
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to set priorities handle multiple assignments and make competent decisions
Ability to identify an issue and implement a problem-solving approach effectively
Ability to extract data and information from various sources and combine into usable
formats
Experience
Three years of experience in a campus or district-level administrative support position
with knowledge about collecting and entering data
Three years of technical experience using computer systems
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Records Reports
1. Build the import and export templates and manage the exchange of data between
the districts SIS and the other district programs.
2. Work cooperatively with campus and district staff to collect organize and
format datarequired to submit SIS data to other systems.
3. Participate in available training opportunities to enhance understanding and
skills ineffectively utilizing and managing the districts SIS.
4. Provide support to families using the SIS parent portal.
5. Configure automatic emails and notifications.
6. Configure and maintain calendar tracks.
7. Configure and maintain enrollment and registration modules.
8. Configure and maintain grading attendance and scheduling setup.
9. Complete annual rollover of the districts SIS.
10. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders
studentsteachers administrators and co-workers.
11. Produce reports for district and campus administrators as needed/requested.
Training and Technical Support
12. Develop and maintain user technical and training documentation.
13. Provide training for all student information system (SIS) modules to district
campus anddepartment personnel.
14. Provide guidance and support to all SIS users at the district campus and
department levels.
15. Develop needed professional skills appropriate to job assignments.
Other
16. Comply with policies established by federal and state law State Board of
Education ruleand local board policy.
17. Demonstrate behavior that is professional ethical and responsible and
serve as a rolemodel for district staff.
18. Compile maintain and file all physical and computerized reports
records and otherdocuments required for possible future reference.
19. Maintain a good rapport with campus/district staff and project a cooperative
and positiveattitude.
20. Attend meetings and training opportunities as they pertain to student
information systemsoftware user creation maintenance systems and protocols
district/campus softwareprograms and/or TSDS/PEIMS.
21. Maintain a working knowledge of PEIMS requirements and rules with an
understandingthat changes continually occur.
22. Stay abreast of the annual version of the SAAH
(Student Attendance AccountingHandbook) and the TEDS
(Texas Education Data Standards).
23. Monitor the email address and forward messages to the
correctparties.
24. Maintain confidentiality of information.
25. Exemplary attendance is an essential job function
26. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
