Job Summary
Position OverviewPerry Local Schools is seeking a nurturing student-centered 2nd Grade Teacher to join our elementary team. The ideal candidate will focus on building strong foundational skills in literacy and mathematics while creating a supportive and engaging classroom ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver standards-aligned instruction in English language arts mathematics science and social studies Implement strong foundational literacy practices including phonics fluency and comprehension Use student data to guide instruction and intervention Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners Create a positive structured and engaging classroom environment Collaborate with colleagues in team-based structures (TBTs) Communicate effectively with students families and staff Support building and district continuous improvement efforts QualificationsValid Ohio teaching license for Elementary Education (K5 or appropriate grade band) Strong understanding of early elementary literacy and numeracy development Commitment to collaboration growth and student-centered learning Ability to build strong relationships with young learners and families Preferred QualificationsExperience with structured literacy and evidence-based reading instruction Familiarity with data-driven instruction and intervention supports Experience integrating technology into instruction
