Job Summary

Summary:
The Aide Title 1 will assist in the overall operation and activities of the Title 1 classroom. The Aide Title 1 performs duties under the supervision of the classroom teacher.

Responsibilities:
Participates in weekly and long-range planning with the classroom teacher.

Assists the teacher in the preparation of instructional aids and enrichment activities.

Assists the teacher in setting up room arrangements for daily activities.

Assists the children in all activities when adult help is needed.

Participates in parent involvement activities.

Participates in professional development activities.

Supervises student behavior in the classroom lunchroom on school grounds and at off-campus activities.

Assists with record keeping and inventory of materials and supplies.

Performs any other duties as assigned.

Experience: One (1) year of increasingly responsible experience working with children preferred.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Must be considered highly qualified per the United States Department of Education and Floridas Differentiated Accountability Model. Meet one of the following criteria: Completed requirement for an Associate Degree or higher Q-NCLB-A

completed 60 semester hours or two years of study at an institution of higher education- Q-NCLB-B or passed the ParaPro Test with a score of 457 or higher Q-NCLB-C.

Language Skills: Reads and comprehends simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Writes simple correspondence. Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills: Adds and subtracts two digit numbers and multiplies and divides with 10s and 100s. Performs these operations using units of American money and weight measurement volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Applies understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deals with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical Activities: Standing walking sitting handling keyboarding talking and hearing.

Lifting Demands: Up to 55 pounds.

Reaching Activities: Both dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead.

Environmental Conditions: Noise Intensity: 3 moderate.
