Job Summary

Massachusetts General Hospital Occupational Therapy Department is seeking a full-time aide for the outpatient occupational therapy and physical therapy department located on the hospitals main campus. This position provides an excellent learning experience for any person considering a career in either physical therapy or occupational therapy in a supportive environment. Although this position will be a shared responsibility across OT and PT the majority of the work will be in the OT department.

In addition to working closely with an accomplished group of clinical staff to support patients receiving rehabilitative services the position also includes administrative responsibilities that promote the efficient operation of our busy clinic. These responsibilities include but are not limited to greeting and setting up of patients aiding in patient care under the direct supervision of a therapist ordering and maintaining supplies and maintaining the department infection control/ cleaning procedures.

Our physical therapists see patients with a wide variety of disorders including musculoskeletal neurological and cardio-pulmonary conditions. Our occupational therapists primarily treat patients with hand and upper extremity injuries pediatric patients as well as neurological and oncology patients.

A strong candidate would have good communication skills be well organized have the ability to multi-task and demonstrate initiative and curiosity. This is a terrific position for anyone interested in pursuing occupational therapy or any allied health position. It will provide you with great patient experiences in a supportive environment.


Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Successful candidate will be:

school graduate or equivalent and satisfactory completion of orientation and competencies

in written/spoken English

interpersonal and communication skills

to demonstrate compassion for patients

High school diploma required. Associate or Bachelor degree is recommended but not required.
