Department Overview
The Division of Endocrinology Diabetes & Clinical Nutrition at Oregon Health & Science University is actively involved in the education research and clinical care of General Endocrinology including: diabetes and metabolism lipids and clinical nutrition and bone and mineral disorders. The Division supports a variety of activities with specialty clinics for clinical nutrition lipid disorders diabetes bone and mineral abnormalities and general endocrinology.
Function/Duties of Position
The Endocrinologist will provide exceptional patient care to an adult patient population. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans and contribute to ongoing advancements in endocrinology and diabetes. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to mentor residents and fellows fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Clinical:
- Working as a generalist in the areas of Endocrinology you will be expected to perform a total of up to 8 clinical sessions per week attend on the inpatient endocrine consult service 2-4 weeks per year and take your fair share of night and weekend call as assigned with other faculty on nights weekends and holidays.
Research:
- The position will have protected time to assume current research grant projects continue research that has been transferred from your current institution and secure grant funding.
Education:
- OHSU is a teaching facility and you will be expected to teach medical students and residents in the clinical setting as part of your Clinical duties above as well as through assigned lectures to be given during the course of the year. You may receive teaching assignments from the Division Head Department or School of Medicine.
Required Qualifications
- MD required
- Must be eligible for medical licensure in Oregon
- Board eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology
- Demonstrated commitment to educational excellence in clinical setting is required
- Advanced training in medical education is highly desirable
- New program graduates considered
