Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in a cardiac-focused intermediate care setting. The ideal candidate must have strong PCU experience and be comfortable managing cardiac patients requiring close monitoring and advanced interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a 28-bed PCU/IMCU unit with a cardiac population
- Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as:
- STEMI / NSTEMI
- Chest pain (C/P)
- Post-cardiothoracic surgery (CTS)
- Administer and manage cardiac drips including:
- Milrinone
- Dobutamine
- Vasopressors
- Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in patient condition
- Provide care for both PCU and lower-acuity telemetry patients as assigned
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to clinical protocols
Key Requirements:
- Active RN License (state not specified)
- BLS & ACLS certifications (required)
- Minimum 2 years of documented PCU experience in a similar-sized facility
- Strong experience with cardiac patient population and drips
- Ability to work in a high-acuity fast-paced environment
