Job Summary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelors degree in accounting (preferred) or business/finance-related field;
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in an accounting office school district accounting office preferred;
  3. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office with significant knowledge and experience in Excel;
  4. Familiar with internal accounting controls software system security and accounting procedures;
  5. Ability to analyze and evaluate accounting problems develop data and recommend improved procedures;
  6. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment work independently and be a customer service- oriented self-starter;
  7. Possess strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Annual Contract: 250 days

SALARY:

$69842 (BA-4)

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to the financial administration of the grants.
  2. Assist in federal grant budget preparation.
  3. Prepare review or direct all accounting entries relating to state and federal grant programs.
  4. Approve all purchase orders and mileage reimbursements coded to state and federal grant funds.
  5. Analyze interpret and implement financial grant contract requirements for federal grant award programs including Maintenance of Effort Maintenance of Equity and indirect costs.
  6. Prepare and file monthly quarterly and annual financial reports for federal grants and ensure timely submission.
  7. Attend professional development training and stay current with all local state and federal guidelines including the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR).
  8. Provide training to all grant stakeholders to ensure the district is efficiently and effectively managing the state and federal grants.
  9. District liaison for communication between program directors and related agencies for state and federal grant programs.
  10. Monitor and reconcile NOGA and award letters with budget and actual financial information.
  11. Assist with the preparation of the quarterly Medicaid Administrative Claim (MAC) filing and the annual submission of the School Health and Related Services (SHARS) Cost Report.
  12. Review and provide necessary annual updates to the districts State and Federal Grants Manual (EDGAR) and Travel Policy.
  13. Assist with monthly and year-end closing of the general ledger and prepare year-end reports for state and federal grants.
  14. Facilitate both state federal and external audit requests throughout the audit process including the interim and annual external audit.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
  16. Report to the Director of Business Services.
  17. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
