Job Summary

Clerk I (holding the functional title of Communications Executive (Event))(several posts) in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 534839) (to commence as soon as possible for 1 year with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance).

Applicants should possess a good bachelors degree with at least 3-4 years of relevant experience (full- or part-time) in event management communications public relations marketing or a related field. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken Chinese (including Putonghua) and English; strong organisational communication and multitasking skills; a high level of computer literacy; and the ability to work independently or in a team under pressure with diverse stakeholders. A can-do attitude prioritisation skills and a keen learning mindset are essential. Experience in managing social media platforms is an advantage.

The appointee will support the Schools Research Communications and Public Relations Team on a part-time basis in planning and executing key communications activities. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting in planning and implementing high-standard events such as summits ceremonies conferences seminars workshops and campaigns;
  • Providing support for event management including programme development budgeting scheduling logistics vendor coordination and inquiry handling;
  • Helping source vendors/suppliers and overseeing on-site event operations and troubleshooting;
  • Creating communication materials (e.g. eDMs invitations social media posts press releases) for campaigns;
  • Supporting post-event evaluations and analysis to track goals and KPIs;
  • Undertaking other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the School Office.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
