Job Summary

Job Title: Business Analysis Services Location: CalPERS Headquarters 400 Q Street Sacramento CA 95811. Work Mode: Hybrid 3 days per week onsite Duration: July 1 2026 through June 30 2028. Job Description: The consultant will act as an expert-level business analyst and tester for the myCalPERS application supporting both on-premise and cloud-based enterprise systems. The role involves leading system enhancement efforts through detailed analysis functional design and testing activities in collaboration with program Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs). Key Responsibilities:

Facilitation: Lead and facilitate Joint Application Requirements (JAR) and Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with technical teams and customer representatives.
Documentation: Create and maintain business requirements documents (BRD) system functional documentation as-is and to-be process maps and design artifacts.
Testing Leadership: Develop and execute functional test plans for defect fixes change requests and Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards.
UAT Support: Provide support for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and collaborate with IT staff to triage defects and issues.
Knowledge Transfer: Provide ongoing knowledge transfer to state personnel through regular meetings documentation and job shadowing.
Reporting: Perform regular status reporting and discuss all work products with the contract manager.

Technical Skills:

Business Analysis: Expert-level skills in requirement gathering JAR/JAD facilitation and requirements traceability matrix (RTM) maintenance.
Testing & QA: Ability to develop test scenarios and scripts execute functional tests and document results.
System Design: Proficiency in functional design for enterprise and cloud applications.
Business Intelligence: Experience in testing and developing requirements for BI dashboards.
Process Modeling: Expertise in documenting and maintaining as-is and to-be business processes.
Security Compliance: Knowledge of security best practices including malware protection 2FA and data privacy.
