Primary Purpose:
The Executive Coach and TSL Lead will work directly with the Director of District Systems and Support and the Assistant Director of District Strategy and Support to develop implement and help lead the Texas Strategic Leadership work. Additionally this position provides technical assistance to districts and educator preparation programs (EPPs) to design and implement paid year-long high-quality sustainable teacher residencies. The role involves providing training and customer support to school staff school leaders superintendents central office staff higher education partners and school boards.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- Masters degree required upon hire
- Texas teaching certification required
- Texas principal certification required
- Superintendent certification preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of successful campus administrator experience required
- Experience appraising teachers and support staff required
- Central Office experience preferred
- Superintendent experience preferred
Skills
- Knowledge of: Coaching modeling and providing feedback on performance with an emphasis on identifying and problem-solving through implementation barriers across wide and diverse circumstances; In-depth knowledge of instructional leadership practices that lead to improved teaching and learning; In-depth knowledge of data-driven practices lesson planning and formative assessment observation and feedback school culture and change management; Knowledge of district practices that impede as well as empower leadership; The accountability system and the necessary actions and measurable progress required to meet state standards.
- Skill in: Long-term planning and project management tracking progress analytical thinking conceptual thinking root cause analysis; Adult learning and professional development design and delivery.

Working Conditions:
- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
- Posture: Must be physically able to tolerate prolonged sitting frequent standing; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling twisting and standing
- Motion: Must be physically able to tolerate frequent standing and walking repetitive hand motions frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching occasional driving
- Lifting: Must be physically able to tolerate regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds or more)
- Environment: Must be physically able to work inside; tolerate frequent regionwide travel and occasional statewide travel; regular exposure to noise
- Mental Demands: Must be able to work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours on occasion

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assists in the implementation of Texas Strategic Leadership
- Provides field service support and customer service support and training to school staff school leaders superintendents school boards higher education partners and central office staff
- Assists the strategic planning implementation team in goal development and tracking
- Identifies internal and external professional learning needs and implements programs sessions and offerings accordingly
- Provides board training as requested
- Manages state or federal grants and follows all guidelines and timelines outlined in the grant(s)
- Utilizes content and pedagogical expertise to design and execute engaging professional development around best practices for successful professional development
- Incorporates curriculum and instruction and technology support into professional development and provides support to Region (internal and external) with innovative strategies designed to grow leaders
- Provide direct technical assistance to districts and EPP partnerships to design paid sustainable teacher teacher residencies.
- Sets modifies and meets short- and long-term professional goals based on self-assessment reflection peer and supervisor feedback contemporary research and analysis of internal professional development and performance management programs and systems
- Travels as a part of job responsibilities
- Maintains a functioning cell phone and is accessible through this phone as deemed appropriate by the director A functioning cell phone means that it is charged activated messages checked and mailbox emptied regularly
- Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities
- Performs duties that directly and/or indirectly impact student performance in Region
- Maintains a professional level of confidentiality regarding all ESC matters
- Supports the mission goals and objectives of the ESC strategic plan
- Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC safety program

- Manages time calendar and job responsibilities to meet deadlines
- Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by supervisor
