50% - Program Development and Execution:- Brainstorm guest topics and speakers work with the Director and Director of Programs and Student Affairs to approve podcast topics and guests.
- Formally invite podcast guests and send them information on how to prepare for the interview.
- Research topics and draft interview questions.
- Coordinate podcast logistics such as setting up the microphone and other equipment.
- Arrange for a location to film podcast in the Dole Institute building.
25% - Outreach and Communications:- Attend 1 SAB recruitment event and 4 SAB meetings each semester and promote the podcast.
- Edit short video clips of the podcast and work with the student marketing intern in promoting the series on social media. Encourage guest speakers to also share on their platforms.
- Respond to all work-related emails in a timely manner including guest speaker correspondence.
25% - Administrative Responsibilities:- Attend the weekly student marketing meetings and weekly meetings with the Director and Director of Programs and Student Affairs.
- When in the Dole Institute office provide administrative support including answering the phone greeting visitors and assisting with special projects as assigned by staff.
- Assist with general event set-up and tear-down including moving chairs tables and other event related furniture at some evening events which are usually Tuesday-Thursday evenings.

Position OverviewThe Dole Institute of Politics hosts a variety of programs during the academic year such as political discussions interview sessions and roundtable discussions. The Dole Institute of Politics Student Advisory Board (SAB) is a way for dedicated students to get involved and volunteer their time and energy. It is a group of students that are interested in politics public service and leadership and take part in volunteer educational and social events as well as monthly meetings.
We are currently hiring one Student Podcast Coordinator.The Dole Institute has started a podcast called From the Balcony which is produced and hosted by student(s) in the Student Advisory Board. The Student Podcast Coordinator reports to the Director of Programs and Student Affairs and meets regularly with the Dole Institute Director.
About our podcast: Just off the Senate Republican Leaders office at the U.S. Capitol Building lies a balcony with a sweeping view of the National Mall. It was here that Senator Bob Dole struck many of his famous bipartisan deals worked the phones and gave interviews. Upon his retirement from the U.S. Senate in 1996 the chamber unanimously approved to rename it the Robert J. Dole Balcony. Our first-ever podcast From the Balcony brings that spirit to life by providing a place for candid thoughtful and engaging conversations on public policy and the defining issues of today.
Hours: 7-12 hours per week Monday-Friday including both daytime office hours meetings and evening events.

- During the semester term of the appointment the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. Employment Conditions(1) Student employees are
