Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable proactive and organised Site Assistant to join a good-rated primary school in Waltham Forest. This role is key to maintaining a safe secure and welcoming environment for students staff and visitors. The successful candidate will support the smooth day-to-day running of the school site and contribute to its overall safety and upkeep.
Role Overview:
As Site Assistant you will provide essential support in the maintenance security and general operation of the school site. You will work closely with the site manager and staff to ensure the school environment is safe clean and well-maintained. Your role will involve hands-on duties monitoring the site and responding quickly to any operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out general maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure the school is safe and welcoming.
Monitor and maintain the security of the school site including gates doors and alarm systems.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of school events meetings and activities.
Report and coordinate repairs or issues with equipment facilities or infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with health and safety fire and safeguarding procedures.
Assist with deliveries moving equipment and managing the storage of school resources.
Support contractors and external suppliers as required.
Maintain accurate records related to site management and safety checks.
Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in site management maintenance or caretaking ideally within a school or educational setting.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to respond to issues proactively.
Good communication skills to liaise with staff contractors and visitors.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of health and safety procedures and compliance standards.
Physical capability to carry out manual tasks safely.
