Job Title: Manager Advisory Accounting
Location: Local / Hybrid
Compensation: $85000 $100000 (commensurate with experience)
Overview
Our clients growing Accounting Advisory Group is seeking an experienced Manager of Advisory Accounting to support a rapidly expanding portfolio of middle-market and complex clients. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a dynamic fast-growing environment and enjoys working closely with clients on operational and financial reporting matters outside of traditional audit work.
The Advisory Accounting group has seen significant recent growth providing back office and end-to-end accounting support to high-profile clients including businesses with private equity ownership and complex structures.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary manager for select advisory accounting engagements acting as the day-to-day point of contact for clients
Oversee and review full-cycle accounting services including monthly closes financial statement preparation and quarterly compilations
Support clients with complex accounting matters including consolidations intercompany transactions and large multi-entity structures
Assist clients through significant business events such as private equity transactions integrations and operational scaling
Partner closely with firm leadership and client stakeholders on financial reporting process improvements and accounting best practices
Collaborate outside of the audit department to deliver timely accurate advisory services to high-profile clients
Lead and mentor staff accountants reviewing work products and providing coaching and technical guidance
Work extensively in Excel and accounting systems building reviewing and optimizing complex models schedules and reconciliations
Quickly learn and adapt to new accounting software and client-specific systems
Support clients in construction or project-based industries including job costing and industry-specific reporting (as applicable)
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
58 years of progressively responsible accounting experience; public accounting or advisory experience strongly preferred
Proven experience managing compilations financial statements and advisory engagements
Strong knowledge of consolidations and complex accounting issues
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfort working with multiple accounting software platforms
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage ambiguity
Experience working with middle-market clients including distributors or companies backed by private equity
Construction or project-based accounting knowledge is a plus
Prior experience managing or mentoring staff is preferred
