Materials Management Specialist Job Summary
Location: Research Triangle Park NC 27709

Bill Rate: $29.00/hour

The Materials Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of supply chain logistics from receiving and shipping to inventory control and customer support. This position directly impacts workflow efficiency accurate order fulfillment and production schedules. The specialist is expected to maintain high standards of organization communication and operational excellence supporting both internal teams and external partners.

Success in this role requires a combination of hands-on logistics experience strong communication and proficiency with inventory systems and documentation. Physical stamina and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan coordinate and execute shipping and receiving of sensitive shipments
- Ensure timely and accurate receipt of materials from approved vendors
- Oversee packaging and shipment of finished goods per specifications
- Maintain inventory accuracy security and accountability
- Review and process purchase orders and incoming materials
- Prepare and manage shipping bills invoices and logistics documentation
- Support compliance with import/export paperwork and freight management
- Build and sustain effective relationships with customers and suppliers
- Uphold quality standards for all incoming and outgoing materials
- Conduct local travel (5 10%) to warehouse and lab sites as needed
Required Skills
- 1 3 years shipping/logistics experience
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Experience with WMS and ERP systems
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and walk for extended periods
