The unlicensed Vascular Access Technician is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN consistent with the established standards of practice the goals of Mercy Hospital Springfield the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy and the Mercy Code of Conduct. This unlicensed Vascular Access Technician has been trained to successfully insert peripheral IVs utilizing direct visualization and assessment techniques as well as ultrasound technology. This individual will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission values and Mercy Service Standards.
Position Details:
The unlicensed Vascular Access Technician is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN consistent with the established standards of practice the goals of Mercy Hospital Springfield the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy and the Mercy Code of Conduct. This unlicensed Vascular Access Technician has been trained to successfully insert peripheral IVs utilizing direct visualization and assessment techniques as well as ultrasound technology. This individual will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission values and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licensure: None.
- Experience: None.
- Certification/Registration: Current BLS or completed within 30 days.
- Other: This individual must be capable of: navigating ultrasound system and all associated equipment continual standing and walking recognizing emergency situations adapting to stressful situations communicating effectively.
- Equipment Used: This individual should be proficient in the basic use of computers and ultrasound devices.
