Job Summary
The Registered Nurse Medical / Surgical (Med-Surg) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with a wide range of acute and post-surgical conditions. This role involves patient assessment treatment monitoring and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Assess plan and implement nursing care for medical and surgical patients
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Provide post-operative care and patient education
Clinical Operations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
- Follow hospital protocols safety standards and infection control practices
- Support discharge planning and continuity of care
Collaboration
- Work closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Communicate patient status and care updates effectively
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg experience
- AHA Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
