Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled Java Developer to design develop and support enterprise-level Java applications. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality maintainable solutions that meet business requirements. This role significantly contributes to the organizations technical infrastructure and project success by applying expertise in Java frameworks database management and development tools to create efficient scalable applications that support business objectives.
Software Requirements
Required:
Java (version 8 or higher) with strong proficiency in core Java concepts
Java frameworks: Spring Hibernate Struts
Java development tools: Eclipse IntelliJ IDEA or NetBeans
Database management: MySQL Oracle SQL Server (assistant proficiency)
Preferred:
Additional frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot Microservices architectures)
Version control and CI/CD tools (e.g. Git Jenkins)
Overall Responsibilities
Develop test and maintain Java applications that meet functional and performance requirements.
Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to analyze needs and develop effective solutions.
Write clear efficient and reusable code following best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to ensure system stability.
Stay informed of advancements in Java technologies and incorporate relevant updates into development processes.
Contribute to project planning documentation and code reviews to improve product quality and maintainability.

Programming Languages:
Required: Java (8) Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
Preferred: Additional languages such as JavaScript or Python for full-stack or automation tasks
Databases/Data Management:
MySQL Oracle SQL Server including database design query optimization and management

Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud for deployment and integration (preferred)

Experience Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Java application development.
Proven experience with Java frameworks (Spring Hibernate Struts) and related tools.
Strong knowledge of relational database design data modeling and management.
Experience working within Agile development environments.
Prior experience in implementing scalable secure and maintainable applications in a team setting.
Candidates with experience in financial services retail or technology sectors are preferred.
Alternative pathways include extensive hands-on experience with Java frameworks and database management even if formal years of experience are slightly below the minimum.
Day-to-Day Activities
Coding testing and debugging Java applications to align with project requirements.
Participating in daily stand-ups planning and review meetings within Agile teams.
Working closely with business analysts and QA teams to validate solutions.
Addressing technical issues and optimizing application performance.
Documenting development processes and technical solutions.
Providing technical guidance and collaborating on design reviews and code improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
Professional Java certification (e.g. Oracle Java Certification) is a plus.
Continuous learning through relevant courses webinars or industry workshops.
Demonstrated ability to adapt and apply new technologies effectively.
