SUMMARY

The Parts and Consumable Coordinator manages the receiving inventory organization and distribution of parts plates and consumables to support efficient fabrication operations at our Market Street Fabrication Shop. This role ensures materials and consumables are properly tracked organized and available to maintain smooth production workflows while adhering to safety and company policies.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

Material Handling and Inventory Management

  • Receive and unload all parts and plates from other facilities and vendors ensuring accurate entries into the Tekla EPMgo system for traceability.
  • Inventory received parts and plates and promptly communicate with the Shop Foreman and vendors regarding missing materials.
  • Track and report the status of parts and plates for various projects and sequences to the Shop Foreman to support efficient fabrication.
  • Organize and move parts and plates from storage locations to fabrication bays to eliminate downtime for fabricators.
  • Manage the movement of long angles bent plates and shop bolts into appropriate fabrication bays to support assembly needs.

Logistical Coordination

  • Re-load empty skids for return to the Industrial Drive facility and coordinate with vendors for skid pickup to prevent accumulation and safety issues.
  • Collaborate with the Shop Foreman to align workflows and ensure material handling supports fabrication schedules.
  • Oversee the storage and distribution of field bolts for various sequences ensuring they are moved to the paint/loading area for inclusion in shipments.

Consumables and Tool Management

  • Maintain the shops consumables room ensuring adequate stock levels to support fabrication operations.
  • Issue consumables to shop stations and employees as needed and track items issued as required.
  • Assist with basic maintenance of shop tools and equipment.

Safety and Organization

  • Maintain a clean and organized parts plates and consumables storage area to support safety and operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to and promote all company safety policies and initiatives.

General Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Shop Foreman.
  • Support all safety and operational policies while performing job duties professionally and respectfully.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with material handling and inventory management in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Tekla EPMgo or similar systems for inventory tracking and traceability.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to dynamic workflows.
  • Commitment to safety and maintaining a clean hazard-free work environment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of tool and equipment maintenance is a plus.
  • Experience operating Overhead Cranes Jib Hoists and forklifts.
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings and the bill of materials to ensure part/plate/bolt efficiency.
